The Silent Prayer
Our Mission
The Silent Prayer is a no-kill, non-for-profit, 501c3 cat rescue dedicated to helping all felines across Long Island. We plan to minimize the feline population across Long Island through TNR, as well as give a voice to the voiceless and find a home for the homeless. We find safe, loving homes for all of our feline companions that enter our care. We help cats from abuse/neglect situations, TNR, owner surrenders, hoardings, shelters, and cats from the streets just needing assistance.
Hours Of Operation
The Silent Prayer rescue is a foster-based rescue located on Long Island. Meaning we schedule meet and greets with our furry friends by appointment only. Due to the pets being in private residencies, all adopters must submit an application and be approved prior to any meet and greet. They are typically scheduled between 11am and 5pm.
Adoption Process
Submit an adoption application. We typically respond within 24 to 72 hours. Afterwards, we reach out to the applicant, overview the application, reach out with questions or concerns, call your landlord if a renter, call your vet if you have a reference, speak to 2–3 personal references, and afterwards do a virtual home check. Once approved, you can schedule a meet and greet and adopt the kitten when ready.
